Dragonfire Kenpo Karate was opened in 1994, in Albuquerque, NM and
has continuously provided full-time instruction, morning until evening, six days a week.
In our school’s early years, we were primarily a traditional
Kenpo-only school. It soon became obvious that areas not addressed effectively by Kenpo alone were equally important to self
defense. Ground applications, including throws and falls, weapons applications, and reality based training soon became important
facets of our program.
Although tournament competition always has been available and will
always be an option, our commitment first and foremost is self defense. We continually strive to update and diversify the
styles we teach to complete our self defense curriculum.
Students can now choose to study our modern Kenpo curriculum, advancing
through the various belt ranks, or they may choose to add blocks of instruction including street self defense, reality-based
F.A.S.T. defense, and Firearms instruction.
